Remembers Johnson was sworn in on an airplane, 3-4 yrs later he was re-elected and escalated the war in vietnam. Also created the great society; the war on poverty.

Was in the draft for Vietnam, the protests were all young people, and the protests were so bad that it seemed like the country was unravelling some were peaceful protesters and some weren’t, a lot of people didn’t want a war and didn’t see it as needing to be fought, so they didn’t want there to be a draft.

Tevevision coverage of the Vietnam war was normal and it brought the war into our livingrooms.
