Robot and Hello Kitty are at the San Antonio airport waiting for their flight to Salt Lake City, Utah.
-
We landed in Salt Lake City and saw many beautiful mountains.
-
Then we were off to Europe. The plane trip took 10 hours to land in Paris, France.
-
We finally landed in Paris.
-
The airport in Paris has a Playstation 3 game area. How cool is that?!
-
There was plenty to read. There were several newspapers in different languages. Can you recognize any of the languages?
-
They chose a magazine in both French and English. We kept it for you to look at.
-
This is the lobby where we waited for our flight to Ljubljana, Slovenia. It's pink!
-
-
This is our plane to Ljubljana. It's quite small!
-
Yay! We landed!
-
We ate dinner. In Slovenia, they have salad with their meal and not before the meal. The salad is made with peanut oil and red cabbage.
-
In the morning, we started with a cappachino.
-
We went into the city to meet our friend Willy, from Brazil. In different parts of Europe, dogs walk around with no leashes.
-
In Ljubljana they had a place where people throw their sneakers. This is called Shoefiti! It was cold so Robot and Kitty kept their shoes.
-
In Ljubljana, we saw a lot of pink including this pink building.
-
We ventured up to the Ljubljana castle. There were many alleys in the city to explore and get lost :-)
-
We finally made it up the castle. It was a very, very long and steep way up.
-
But we got a nice view!
-
We then explored an open air market.
-
They sell fruits and other food.
-
They also sell crafts, clothing, toys, and more!
-
We came to the famous Dragon Bridge. Robot tried to get a free ride back to the hotel on the dragon ;-)
-
The dragon doesn't seem to happy about that.
-
Our friend Willy had to get us so we could continue our trip!
-
We also saw fountains with many sculptures.
-
Another pinkish building!
-
And a statue!
-
There are beautiful bridges in Ljublana.
-
At one bridge, you can leave a padlock with your name and the one you love. You throw the key in the water. The idea is when you find the key and unlock the padlock then your love will end. Maybe your dad's name is there ;-)
-
So much walking! We needed a coffee and cake break!
-
-
Kitty loved Lolita's coffee shop that had a beautiful ceiling and cool furniture.
-
-
-
We visited a school where we were with high school students. See the mountains in the background.
-
This was the teacher desk where we planned our lesson for 4 classes.
-
After teaching, we roamed the hallways.
-
The students here wear slippers instead of shoes. This way they don't dirty the hall. Some wore funny characters. We were jealous. We'd love to go to school in slippers.
-
-
The school had a beautiful chapel with a huge organ.
-
We also looked at the students' art projects.
-
Through out the week we traveled all over Slovania and Croatia by car, bus, and train.
-
We went by car to a beautiful place called Topolsica. And yes we did swim outside even with the snow around. These places have warm swimming pools.
-
-
We were at a teacher conference. We had to hula hoop!
-
We also learned how to do the English waltz.
-
Each day, Shelly trained teachers at the conference.
-
After Topolisica, we traveled again. One of the places we visited was another thermal spa in Lendava, Slovenia.
-
This was a high school we visited in Lendava.
-
In Lendava we also got to eat very yummy icecream with pomegranates and cake.
-
We stayed in another thermal spa where Shelly swam outside in the snow. Don't worry the water is very warm!
-
-
We visited college students at a university in Maribor.
-
The university students create beautiful art on all the walls in the hallways here.
-
-
In Maribor, there was a snowstorm.
-
So we did the only logical thing. We stopped at a cafe and had some icecream :-)
-
We went to the train station to go to Zagreb, Croatia. We will tell you about that trip in the next adventure. We saw a pizza vending machine at the station.
-
They have colorful trains in Ljubljana. See the pink train?
-
Now we are on our journey to Croatia!
-
-
Till the next adventure....
